In
the Beginning
Nevada Women’s Lobby was founded in 1988 by a
dedicated group of women concerned about the status of women and children in
Nevada. Organizational meetings began in early 1988 and included
representatives from many interested organizations. By the end of that year,
a core group drafted our Principles of Unity and other organizational
documents, and on January 17, 1989, held the first public meeting to
introduce NWL to the community. The original NWL Steering Committee
consisted of: Sarah Chvilicek, Beth Elliot, Elaine Enarson, Diana Glomb,
Helen Jones, Diane Loper, Nancy Moore, Elizabeth Pope and Diane Williams.
