Each month, we gather to hear from a guest speaker and to engage in dialogue about the issues facing Nevada women and families.
This month’s speaker is Dr. Sarah Jane Blithe, author of “Gender Equality and Work-Life Balance: Glass Handcuffs and Working Men in the U.S.”.
Dr. Sarah Jane Blithe earned her Ph.D. in Organizational Communication from the University of Colorado Boulder and her M.A. in International Business Communication. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Communication Studies at the University of Nevada, Reno, where she specializes in organizational policy and gender. Dr. Blithe has published both academic and practitioner work about communication in organizations and has received a number of teaching and research awards.
Dr. Blithe’s talk for the Nevada Women’s Lobby will present the findings from her book, “Gender Equality and Work-Life Balance: Glass Handcuffs and Working Men in the U.S.” which won the 2015 Outstanding Book Award from the Organization for the Study of Communication, Language, and Gender.
