Each month, we gather to hear from a guest speaker and to engage in dialogue about the issues facing Nevada women and families.
This month, we will be hearing from George McKinlay from the UNR Center for Independent Living.
Our lives have become increasingly influenced by technology yet people with disabilities are not given the same choices as the broader population. The barriers to full and equal participation are less about the technologies or individual abilities and are really about social/institutional opportunity.
Disability is a diversity issue not a medical or personal state of being. George will speak about the visual impairments and accessibility to participation in the public forums that change our society.
If you will be paying by cash or check at the event, RSVP by emailing NWLluncheon@nevadawomenslobby.org
