Want to channel all that election anxiety into action? We have some ideas for you…
IDEA #1: Volunteer for Election Protection Nonpartisan Election Protection volunteers will be voters’ first line of defense against many that wish to cast doubts about our elections. Nevada Women’s Lobby has partnered with All Voting is Local and Silver State Voices to help ensure our election process is safe and accessible to everyone. We are looking for Election Protection volunteers to work at polling locations during early voting and to help canvass the election results in November.
IDEA #2: Urge a few friends and family members to vote YES on Ballot Question 1 As you know, Nevada Women’s Lobby has worked hard over the past two legislative sessions to get the Nevada Equal Rights Amendment passed at the legislature. Now, it’s up to voters to get The Equal Rights Amendment enshrined in our State Constitution. Make sure your friends and family know why it’s so important! (More info can be found here.)
IDEA #3: Walk in support of the ERA at this weekend’s Nevada Day Parade in Carson City This weekend, ERA supporters will walk in the Nevada Day Parade. To participate, sign up here.
IDEA #4: Or attend our November 1st Lunch & Learn (where we won’t discuss elections!) Nelson Araujo, Nevada’s Infrastructure Advisor, will update us on Nevada’s funds from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and what our state is doing with the money. Nevada received more than $4 billion in funds to be used for things like roads, bridges, electric vehicle charging, public transportation, airports, and transportation funding.
